Dr. George presented at the 14th Annual Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. The festival hosts authors, poets and illustrators from across the country.
Dr. George spoke on his book, Untangling the Mind: Why We Behave the Way We Do, published by Harper Collins. He said, “It is an honor to be invited as a featured author for the National Book Festival. In my years as a psychiatrist I am struck by how much easier it is for people to say they have a physical illness than it is for them to admit they feel out of control with and emotion- be it anger, fear or depression. In writing Untangling the Mind, it was my hope that people will increase their understanding of their own and other’s behaviors and move from the dark places of bewilderment, inner loneliness and despair to hope.”
